"When man spends too much time in the vertical position and insufficient time in the recumbent position he becomes ill because he loses his normal ability to maintain respiratory effort and cerebro spinal fluid pressure. When the home discarded the rocking chair it discarded one of its best friends, because the rocking chair is the only method that will quickly equalize cerebro spinal fluid pressure. A good maxim would be ... HE WHO ROCKS MOST FEELS BEST. The cardiac patient never really recovers in the recumbent position but quickly mends in the rocking chair position. What may be said of the cardiac patient would apply to all non-febrile cases."

Reflections

Have you ever thought - in your Quiet Hour - what S.O.T. really means to you? When you have found an answer (or found it unanswerable), ask yourself this: "What would CHIROPRACTIC have if it had never had SACRO OCCIPITAL TECHNIC?"

(I can think of about fifteen technic teachers of different forms who would be out of work!) I can think of many so-called discoveries that would not have been made. Chiropractors would still be trying to use a "plumb line" for diagnosis by centering it to the sacral crest instead of using a posture foot plate to hold the feet - so the plumb lines could show you the patient's DISTORTION-SUBLUXATION SYNDROME.

There would have been no R.S.I.M.D. or L.S.I.M.D..... There would have been no INDICATORS..... There would have been no VISUAL SUBLUCATION PATTERNS..... There would be no "SUBLUXATIONS OF EXCESSES." ...... There would be no SOTO or COTI or TRAPEZIUS AREAS or INTERCOMMUNICATING AREAS. There would be no proper inferior lumbar adjustments or proper rotation adjustments, or anterior dorsal technics. There would be no R.P.S. ATLAS or R.P.I. AXIS analysis or adjustive technics...... There would be no DIAGNOSTIC OCCIPITAL LINES or CEREBRO-SPINAL FLUID LESIONS, or OCCIPITAL LINE TWO, or LINE THREE technics...... There would be no L.L.L. or U.M.S., or ANTERIOR or POSTERIOR INNOMINATE rules for analysis and adjustments. There would be no femoral angulations for proper lumbar correction...... There would be no PRE or POST GANGLIONIC technics.... There would be no skeletal or anatomical reflexes. There would be no DISC technic INDICATORS. There would be no cervical kyphosis or lordosis technics. There would be no long and short leg technic for innominate meningeal lesions..... There would be no prostatic technics as we used to teach, and still use - and probably will teach again.... There would be no PRIMARY SUBLUXATIONS, no DIFFERENTIATION BETWEEN SUBLUXATIONS IN FIXATION AND DISTORTIONS that fixed those fixed subluxations..... There would be no "MOVEMENT SUBLUXATION."...... There would be no first visit analytical procedure as we now know and use. There would be no Vasomotor Control. There would be no specific Chiropractic Rules on Nutrition. There would be many less fundamental rules in X-Ray Diagnosis. There would be no specific listing of Sacral Rotations and Inferior Slips, and Obliques. (I doubt that anyone would have recognized the vast field of mechanics we so normally use every day.) Hundreds of rules, so commonly accepted today - with no interest in their origin - would be missing. There would be some forty-six less books on Chiropractic. Where would be the fellow who would come up with the S.B.A. and S.B.P. technics? There are more, but time prevents their mention.

Even if you changed the above "There would be no" references above to read: "Would there be ?"…. you must realize that THERE WOULD BE NO S.O.T. as you know it and practice it today!

JUST A FEW THOUGHTS…TO ACCOUNT FOR THE LACK OF HAIR UPON THIS….OLD…. BALD….DOME………

"The blocks have made chiropractic a great and dignified profession worthy of scientific investigation by all the scientists in the world. We are no longer a back punching, neck cracking fellowship, but an association of scientists with the knowledge to go forward."

S.O.T. CREATES THINKERS

Some of the best minds in chiropractic are in S.O.T. When anything works as well as does the Category Blocking system, you naturally think, and in thinking you solve a lot of problems. We never ask anyone to dogmatically accept our doctrines. We ask you to understand our doctrines and use them and if you can, add to them. S.O.T. is never a closed circuit. We ask S.O.T. doctors to let the blocks work to full advantage. This means that if you must adjust articulations to keep yourself and your misinformed patients happy, then do adjust, but immediately follow with the indicated category blocking. The blocks will lessen the trauma of all types of physical attacks upon the human body. All forceful adjustments have to be attack problems. The blocks do not insult or traumatize. They gently coax parts back into position and function.
